Chicago’s “Plan for Transformation” radically changed the face of public housing in the city in the early 2000s, with dozens of high-rise “projects” raised, and residents resettled into Section 8 housing. This documentary profiles the residents of one of the Stateway Gardens high-rises on the city’s South Side as their communities are dismantled, and they’re moved into private market apartments for the first time in their lives.
